RL will outfit all of the ball kids (yep....they call them ball "kids") and the officials for Wimbledon through 2010. Given the success of the line and the marketing muscle that has been put behind the collection I have a feeling that Mr. Lauren and his Polo Brand will be a staple at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club for some time to come.

This is the kind of design aesthetic that serves RL so well. Unquestionably American in his approach but with clear European sensibilities.

The piping on the blazer below is fantastic. Classic British detailing with a great bit of tailoring. Is it me or do the models in this campaign (who look conspicuously American) look as if they are walking into a party they haven't been invited to but they don't care because they know that they look better than everyone else....

You have to love the fact that an American designer was able to outfit this fabled tournament, held in the UK since 1877. Now if we could only get an American to win the men's finals....yeah....I know Roger Federer is probably going to win the next 10 in a row.
Make it an Outstanding Day!
