Work out "Clothes"

It's February and if you're like me the one thing that you're thinking about, other than what the hell to get a girl you just met 3 weeks ago for a totally made up and slightly sexist holiday that falls oh so randomly in the middle of the month (...kidding), is how you can keep said "hottie" focused on you through the one season that forces you to take off your shirt in broad daylight (the horror!). Said another way, we've got about 3 months before the beginning of Summer and that equates to roughly 12 weeks before you have to start competing for your ladies attention against guys who sprinkle protein powder on raw tuna and wear extra-medium Ed Hardy shirts.

The way I see it, going to the gym is something you are going to have to do but don't fret my friend, you don't have to be built like David Beckham to look great in your work out gear...and...just in case you're wondering, YES, you do need to look presentable at the gym. The term "Gym Rat" should only be used to describe your tenacity in going to the gym, not how you look when you get there. You would be surprised how many men I know that wonder why women are not receptive to their advances at the gym. Of course, it could be because she is busy doing the third exercise in her four stop circuit....or.....it could be the "Lynard Skynard World Tour" T-Shirt that you have on...I'm just sayin.

Let me be clear, I understand that the gym is for working out but that doesn't mean that you can't show up looking presentable, even down right chic. A man should always be well dressed unless he is not dressed at all. Might I recommend you invest in a couple pair of trim fit sweat pants like the one's pictured above, in gray and/or black. The fit is key - loose but not baggy. Spring for the matching hoodie for the colder months and make sure you have plenty of plain white or gray T-shirts. It's a clean and simple look for the gym that will work for just about anyone. Be sure to stay away from anything that is cut off or has holes in it. You'll just end up looking a little disheveled. You can even wear a tee with a cool little saying on it, provided it's appropriate (I have one that says "Work in Progress").

Your fellow gym members will appreciate you clean look and pretty soon all that iron pumping will have you looking just as good your clothes off. Who knows, maybe the cute blonde you've been eyeing will think about showing you a few other ways to work up a sweat.

Make it an Outstanding Day!

Great tip for appropriate male fashion at the gym. I find myself questioning some people when i see them at the gym wearing jeans or some guys just wearing spandex. I was an athlete for the past 13 years so I understand the extreme gym rats, but there is no need to look crazy.

Thank God someone finally said something about what people wear to the gym. Old torn t-shirts, dirty sweats, and spandex r a crime. Good job man!
